Shot Down

Calliano, Italy 5 February 1945 On February 5, 1945 he was on the crew of the North American B-25J Mitchell #43-36098 flying out of Corsica when they crashed near Calliano in Italy. Only one man survived and died one week later in a hospital. Some records indicate that it was Charles D Ross who survived the crash and was held as a prisoner by Germany at the Air Corps Transit Camp in Verona Italy. He died on February 12, 1945 from his injuries.
