Lt.Col. Arthur F Jeffrey, 434th Fighter Squadron. P-51D 44-14423 L2-O “Boomerang Jr”. Like many 479th FG pilots, Jeffrey used the same name as that on his earlier P-38 but added “Junior” to it to account for the diminutive size of the P-51 in comparison. Jeffrey’s other P-51, a “K” model 44-11674 was also coded L2-O and named “Boomerang Jr.”.
