Easthorpe, Essex, UK 4 June 1944 His a/c suffered an oxygen fire during assembly. Most of the crew bailed out. The pilot crash landed the aircraft near Easthorpe, Essex. Brown was KIA as a result of fighting the fire and the crash landing.
