Assigned to 361st FS, 356th FG, 8th AF, USAAF.



Awards: DFC (OLC), AM (8OLC), World War II Victory, EAME (4 bronze stars), American Campaign Medal.



Post military service, authored the first Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) handbook on formation flying for EAA air shows



Purchased P-51D 44-74494 on 27 April 1979 and flew it in the WWII colors of 44-15080 Carolyn's Vergeltungswaffe (with name shortened to Vergeltungswaffe) from 1980 until selling it 27 May 1998
