Member of Aubrey Edwards Jr’s crew. Assigned B-24 42-52193 which they named Bubble Trouble.

Shot down by enemy aircraft on 6th mission 19 March 1944 returning from bombing marshaling yards in Steyr. Suffered burns from burning fuel while exiting the ball turret. Avoided capture for 3 days. Brought to German hospital for treatment of burns and wounds incurred while exiting aircraft. Was a POW in Stalag Luft 1 until mid May 1945.
