He enlisted in the Air Corps on graduating high school and, following training, crewed up in Walla Walla and joined the Group at Rackheath. He was nearing the end of his tour of duty when on a raid over Berlin they were attacked by ME-262's and anti-aircraft fire and shot down. He was just twenty years old. Killed in Action (KIA) at Berlin in B-24 42-52546
