Killed in Action (KIA). Plane took off from base, assigned to target Poix, France. During instrument climb to assembly altitude. Lt. Chamberlain flew into heavy prop wash while in cloud. The b-24 went into a slight climb followed by a steep dive. Pilot pulled out of the dive and then fell off into a spin, the tail asembly broke off and the a/c broke up and at 0915 hours crashed at Walnut Tree Farm, Benacre, Suffolk Plane was B-24J #42-100363
