"Capt Alfred W Dieffenbach* 27 year old son of a government employee, who has returned from the ETO after 25 missions over Germany and enemy occupied missions as bombardier. He flew one mission as Wing bombardier and 80% of his missions as Group bombardier. He was born and raised in the District of Columbia and graduated from the Unniversary of Maryland, class of 1940. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Rudolph Dieffenbach of 849 Ridge Avenue Evanston, IL. Seen here holding photos of types of Flying Fortresses he helped to man in missions over enemy territory."
