This is a picture of my father Lt. Seymour Deutsch (Navigator) in the top row 2nd from right with the rest of his crew. 493rd Bomber Group/862nd Bomb Squad. They flew all of their 36 missions together. 12 in B-24 "Shoo Shoo Baby" and 24 in B-17 "Day's Pay". The rest of the guys were Alan Cohen, Rudy Krack, Frank McCann, Robert M. Neal, Chester Piergies, Charles Purcell, Edwin Stewart, Arlys Wineinger. (Sorry, can't match the names to the faces).

Robin Deutsch to corrected spelling
Flew 36 missions from June 1944 to January 1945 with crew that was first assigned to B-17 named 'Day's Pay,' so named because it was donated to the AF by 51,000 employees of the Hanford Engineering Works who donated a full day's pay to buy the aircraft. First 12 missions I flew were on a B-24.
