A P-47 Thunderbolt (WZ-Z, serial number 41-6630) of the 84th Fighter Squadron, 78th Fighter Group mid-flight. Handwritten on slide casing: '78th F.G.' 41-6630 later served at Old Buckenham as formation monitor for the Liberator squadrons based there. It was stripped of paint and had the groups markings of a black tail with diagonal white stripe with the letter 'J' in a circle.
