A-2 Leather Flying Jacket worn by 1st Lieutenant Howard Eugene "Gene" Greenwell of the 357th Fighter Squadron, 355th Fighter Group and 2nd Scouting Force. A zipper fronted single-breasted jacket of brown leather with stand & fall collar and patch pockets to the lower front. The jacket has knitted cuffs and waistband and to the left breast is sewn a leather insignia patch of the 357th Fighter Squadron ('The Licking Dragons'), to the right breast is a hand-painted red Indian, representing the 2nd Scouting Force. The name, 'Eugene' is applied in black paint on a red rectangle, above the left breast.
