From St. George, SC, Lt. Gwyn W. Bell enlisted in Miami Beach, FL, on 1 February 1943. He was assigned to the 370th Fighter Squadron on 28 March 1945 and flew seven combat missions with the 359th Fighter Group before completing his tour of duty in September 1945.
