Woolf Pack was named for one of its first pilot's, Willard Woolf. It recorded 63 operational bombing missions, 22 of which were flown by 1st Lt. Robert P. Koehler as co-pilot. Woolf Pack crash landed in Belgium on Sept. 25, 1944 with 'Gus' Efrid's crew aboard. All crew survived and returned to service with the aid of Belgian resistance. Lt. Koehler happened to be flying E-Rat-Icator when Woolf Pack went down.
