Attlebridge, Norwich NR9, UK | 23 December 1944 | Was on the runway when a damaged B-24 landed long and hot, tried to veer off the runway to avoid a collision, but caught a landing gear in a hole, causing the port engines of the damaged a/c to sheer off the nose of "Lady Too," Fortunately there were no injuries sustained as a result of the crash. 786th BS CO Major John Jacobowitz was aboard "Lady Too" in the co-pilot's seat when the collision occurred. |
