Delivered Geiger 1-Sep-42; with George Stallman force landed Hancock Field, NY 5-Oct-42; Assigned 365BS/305BG [XK-V] Presque Isle, Maine 19-Oct-42; Grafton Underwood 25-Oct-42; Chelveston 11-Dec-42; Missing in Action Wilhelmshafen 26-Feb-43. The aircraft sustained damage from anti-aircraft fire over the target and then was finished off by fighters and crashed into the Jadebusen (Jade Bight) Germany. 5KIA 5POW. MACR 16054. The Ball Turret Gunner was held at various prison camps but escaped in October of 1943 on this third attempt and returned to England on 27-Feb-44, Escape and Evasion Report 424. He was awarded the Silver Star.
