Attacked by German aircraft on a mission to bomb the aircraft factories at Halle, Germany. NOTE: Roger A Freeman, David Osborne, and Stan Bishop & John A Hey MBE, have this aircraft assigned to 322nd Bomb Squadron. However, MACR 8179 lists the crew as from 324th Bomb Squadron. It is possible that a crew assigned to 324th Bomb Squadron actually flew this aircraft assigned to 322nd Bomb Squadron. For documentation purposes here, that assumption is considered correct.
