14 May 1943 |
On 14 May 1943 at 12.30 hours a B-17 was last seen west of the island of Amrum after a bombing raid on Kiel.
Then one of its four engines had stopped, and a large hole in the rudder was noticed. The plane must have crashed into the North Sea. All of the crew perished.
