The B-24D, named, Ubangi Bag, was originally assigned to the 14th Air Force, the 308th Bomb Group, and the 374th Bomb Squadron. It was sent back to the united states in late 1943 on a War Bond Tour.

Markings and paint scheme/livery

The B-24D Liberator bomber, Ubangi Bag, was painted overall in the standard Army dark green olive drab camouflage color. It's nose art was a picture of an African native woman with the name, Ubangi Bag, on both sides of it's forward nose section. At one time it's RCL, 22, was painted on the RH side of it's forward nose. It's insignias were white stars on blue roundels with yellow border surrounds for mid 1943.
