Assigned to 90TCS, 438TCG, 9AF USAAF. On practise drop, 42 C-47's took the air and flew to the DZ. Paratroopers began jumping out over the DZ, filling the sky with approximately 450 parachutes. At that point, A/C 42-100781 lost its starboard propeller due to structural failure, nosed down and flew through a stick of paratroopers, killing 6 of them. A/C crashed at Posnes, France killing the 4 x crew. 14-Mar-45.
