Crashed

Duxford, UK 17 August 1943 Swung on takeoff from Duxford, demolished a windsock and crash landed about 1 1/2 mi SE of the airfield. Aircraft struck ground so hard that engine and airframe came to rest 40 yards apart. Pilot Lt. Robert F. Brower suffered only minor injuries.
