While assigned to the 474th Fighter Group, aircraft lost on routine flight 8 June 1945 while flying from airfield Y-52, Nice, France to airfield R-2, Bad Langensalza, Germany. Aircraft crashed in bad weather just west of Strasbourg, France. The 430th Fighter Squadron pilot, 2Lt. Jack W. Haggard, was killed.
