Assigned to 336FS, 4FG, 8AF USAAF. Normally the personal aircraft of George Logan. Failed to Return (FTR) escort Merseburg, Germany. Shot down strafing improvised air field with 8 x Ju87's. Capt John T Godfrey POW. 24-Aug-44. MACR 7941. Review of gun camera film later determined A/C was inadvertently struck by the gun fire of Godfrey's wingman.
