Hi, My cousin (he was my father's generation) was in the 55th Fighter Group. He was Major Milton Joel, the CO of the 38th Fighter Squadron, based in Nuthampstead, U.K. Maj. Joel was shot down while on bomber escort over Bremen. His body has never been found and all efforts by my family at that time to find out his fate came up empty. He was the youngest Major in the USAAF at that time.
