2nd son of Staff Sargent Salvatore S. Elmo, who survived Nazi Prison Camp, and Black March. He was 95lbs when liberated by Canadian Unit. He is seen here months before he passed at 94 years of age. Farthest from the left is Connecticut United States Senator Christopher Murphy, who presented Dad with several medals of which two were most treasured: POW serving with Honor, and successfully completing five missions. He was the flight engineer for his Liberator B-24. He also served as left gunner.
