The grand nephew of Edward G. Minton who served in the 8th Air Force, 349th Bomb Squadron, 100th Bomb Group (Heavy) who was shot down September 11, 1944 on the Ruhland mission and survived bailing out, but died of injures related to a separated spine March 20, 1945 in German POW hospital.
