I am the daughter of Captain Carl R. Thompson of Paris, Texas who flew B17s in the 8th Air Force, 306th Bomb Group, based in Thurleigh, Bedfordshire, England during WWII. I deeply miss my father, and I can only hope that current and future generations will be able to rise to their challenges with as much strength and honor as his generation did.
