Bio

My father was part of the 388th Bomb Group and crewed as left waist gunner on a B17. He was shot down on September 6, 1943 returning from bombing a munitions plant in Stuttgart Germany. He bailed out and was captured and interred at Stalag XVII for 20 months. He was liberated by General Patton's army on May 3, 1945.
