Born in Robstown, TX. Joined Army Air Corp in 1943, Flew 35 missions in Europe as Flight Engineer on B-24s. On last mission was involved in mid-air collision over the English Channel with another B-24. Bomardeear had just crawled out of the nose turret when one of our B-24s passed in front of us and hit our nose turret. His wing tip knocked the nose turret off. Quite breezy at 18000 feet 50 below Cen. with no nose turret. Both B. 24s made it back to England. After the war stayed in the Air Force Reserve, attained the rank of CWO-4 with 34 years service. Have two children. Son is a Retired Army Air National Guard E8. Daughter is Occupational Therapist.
