I was named after an uncle, 1st LT Teddy Dudziak, who flew for the 392nd BG out of Wending, England. He and his crew were shot down on 11/18/43 after bombing for the second time the heavy water plant in Norway. I have been researching his involvement and am glad that I found this website as it seems to have some images of his aircraft The Shark, call sign V_. He has been listed as a 1st LT on many websites but on the B24.net and documentation that I have he was a 2nd LT. My dad told the story that when he and his crew were going to Wending he called my dad to tell him that he would be coming to Buffalo, NY. Dad asked how he would know when the aircraft was near and Teddy replied "Oh you'll know." He buzzed the house, landed and brought the crew home for dinner.
