Aldergrove

Military site : airfield

The RAF used Aldergrove from 1941 for trans-Atlantic delivery flights of American aircraft acquired for the RAF, but any such USAAF use was simply as a convenient or emergency alternative to their other US North Atlantic ferry air route bases, such as Prestwick (Scotland), Nutts Corner (Northern Ireland), Valley (Wales) and St Mawgan (England).
