Persistant fighter attacks on a mission to Achmer a/f, GR on 21 Feb 1944 damaged B-24H # 42-7764 'Bag O' Bolts'. With one engine out and control cable damage, the a/c completed the bomb run but dropped out of formation on return and sustained further fighter attacks. A/c managed to return to the UK. Killed in Action (KIA). Baled or fell out of a/c over Holland.
