On 08 Oct 1943 crash landed in 'Liberty Belle' B-17#42-5889 on return from mission to Poland. RTD.



He was shot down on his 21st mission. Attacked by fighters on a mission to Brunswick, GR on 29 Mar 1944, B-17G #42-39965 crashed NE of Wolfsburg, GR after some of the crew bailed out. Prisoner of War (POW) at Stalag Luft 17B.



Earlier 3 September 1943 returning from mission to Nantes, France, crashed in B-17#42-3449 while attempting to land at RAF Wing. All crew returned, but 3 seriously injured.
