Died

Gulfport, MS, USA 22 February 1999 GULFPORT -- Harold K. Braun, 80, died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999. Mr. Braun was born in Neva, Wis., and was a longtime Gulfport resident. He retired in 1965 from the U.S. Air Force, and had served during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He received the Purple Heart, the Air Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal, and numerous campaign ribbons and unit citations. He retired from civil service in 1974 as Public Affairs Officer at the U.S. Navy Construction Battalion Center, Gulfport. He was a member of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gulfport. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Harold F., and mother, Lucy Braun; two sisters; and two brothers. Survivors include his wife, sons, and 10 grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, where friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Private committal services will be held in the Biloxi National Cemetery.
