Flew two tours with the 303rd BG--Career spanned three wars. Received Aviation Space Writers Orville Wright Award in 1964 for work in Vietnam. Flew with Air Rescue Service in 1953--navigated B-29 1000 miles east of Bermuda, located ship at night, and dropped blood plasma on deck of ship and saved a seaman's life.
