He enlisted in August, 1942 at Fort Devens, Massachusetts, and trained in Syracuse, New York. He was 21 years old. He was shipped to England on October 5, 1943 and was based in Thurleigh.

George's main responsibility was loading bombs on B-17s. He was in England until October 22, 1945, when he was shipped home. He married Louvianna (Blais), in May, 1947. He worked at A.C. My father's Enlisted Record and Report of Separation Honorable Discharge document states his grade as "Sergeant". Nowhere do I see a distinction of 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. Therefore, assuming that 3rd is the lowest and 1st the highest, I put 3rd. There is no option given for just "Sergeant" in the menu. Paul L. Jalbert (son) February 15, 2017
