Frederick Chester Bradley Jr
MilitaryMy Dad flew with the Howard Traeder crew, 24 missions from 1/45 to 4/45 24th mission was supposed to be a milk run however it didn't turn out that was. The 398th's B-17's were caarrying highly sensitive RDX bombs. One plane accidently salvoed their bombs rather than dropping them in train. They bumped and exploded blowing 6 planes out of formation. My dad's plane was one of them. They headed for Allied lines. Plane was Q-Queenie. All the crew were saved.
