Fred Siegel lived in St Louis Missouri on Alabama Street at the time of enlistment and is listed as a sheet metal worker. Born July 10, 1920. Died in March23, 1983. Buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St Louis, Mo. He was extremely outgoing and was loved by many. Fred and his wife Betty had three girls and one boy. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He rarely spoke of the war and never gave details. On rare occasions, if the war was brought up, he was emotional about the pilot Bates. He would simply utter his name out of respect. I pray they have met up in the after life and have peace, along with members of the crew that did not come home.
