Frank was on his first tour when this picture was made. He was promoted to captain the day he started his second tour. He flew 54 missions with the 487 BG. Later he was sent back to the US and served six (6) months flying transport planes all over the Pacific area. Frank flew out of Atsugi,Japan September 2,1945 over Tokyo Bay as the surrender documents were being signed on the USS Missouri. Not sure where he was headed,but I remember Frank telling me this story.

The last 10 years of his life he lived in Cedartown, Georgia close to his daughter.

Frank died November 3, 2013. His funeral was held at the FBC Cedartown. He is buried at the local cemetery in Cave Spring, GA.
