Lierop, Netherlands | 19 September 1944 | On the morning of 19th September German troops were in full retreat when the Allied ground moved north and Sgt Doucett with three Dutch Resistance men jplanned to create havoc amog Germans. The went to a strategic spot in the woods but were surprised by some German soldiers. In the skirmish Sgt. Doucette was killie outright by rifle bullets in his head and stomach. |
