Francis Thomas Eyre


Frank Eyre was from Chicago and was my father. He was in the 453rd BG, 733 Sqdn. His Operations Officer was MAJ Jimmy Stewart. His flight engineer was Edmund Trzcinski- he was the author of "Stalag 17" which became a movie. Dad was the bombardier of the "Ruth Marie" & the "Iron Duke". He was a lead crewmember & flew 30 msns. He retired from the US Army in 1969 as a Colonel. He served in WW2, Korea, & Vietnam.
