Attended Texas Military Academy (1923-27) where he was a First Lieutenant (Supply Officer) pre-attending the University of Texas. He then worked in retail before joining the USAAC inNovember 1940. Continued service with USAF after war with Tactical Air Command retiring in June 1960 as a Colonel. Son (same name) also spent 30 years in USAF.
