Emile Freeman was Radio Operator/Gunner on B-17 Serial 44-8208, shot down on the Merseburg mission 2 November 1944. Killed in Action (KIA). According to statements from some fellow crew members, he went back to the radio room to fetch his parachute and probably jumped after them; others think he either didn't leave the plane or his parachute didn't open.
