SSgt. Alfred P. Rossi was a B-24 radio operator/ top turret gunner, and took part in Operation Tidal Wave, the raid on Ploesti flying with Lt. John McCormick in his B-24D, Liberator, 42-40787, Vagabond King. He survived the mission and returned to Nicosia, Cyprus. 1 Aug 43.
Sgt. Rossi was shot down by either, friendly fire, or FW-109 German fighter planes, and killed in action in, Vagabond King, with all crewmen also KIA. The plane crashed into North Sea. FTR. 10 KIA. 18 November 1943.
