Edward Walter Mercker
MilitaryEdward Mercker was a flight engineer and served on B-17, B-24 and C-47 aircraft on transport, resupply and combat evacuation missions. Ed's son believes that while his father was based in the UK, he stole a Union Flag from a local church.
In 1949 Ed was recalled to the armed forces to serve in the Korean War. He remained in the Air Force until 1969 and retired with the Rank of Master Sergeant
