Military

Drafted into 29th Division (National Guard) in March 1941. Transferred to Army Air Corps in August 1942. Trained as a Bombardier and was sent overseas. Assigned to 388th Bomb Group / 563rd Bomb Squadron. Shot down on his seventh mission, 6 September 1943 in B-17 #42-5942 "Sky Shy". Prisoner of War (POW). Returned to the United States and was discharged in September 1945.
