Rocky Hill, CT, USA | 10 February 2008 | KOZON, Edward S. In loving memory of Edward Stanley Kozon who died peacefully at home in Rocky Hill on Sunday (February 10, 2008) at the age of 88. Ed leaves his loving wife of 60 years, Anila (Gotlibowski); son, Frederick and his wife Roseann and son, Thomas, all of California. He is also survived by his grandchildren Nathan and Nicole Kozon, of California, and several nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by a son, Gregory, and a sister, Florence Kulas. Born in New Britain, Ed attended Sacred Heart School and New Britain High. He finished his high school education at Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, NJ. He also received a Bachelors Degree in Business and Finance at Bryant College in Providence, RI. Ed served in the European Theater during World War II, participating as an Air Force First Lieutenant in numerous combat missions. He received several citations including the Distinguished Flying Cross and Four Air Medals. Following the war and the completion of his college education, Ed went to work in Bristol for "New Department," a division of General Motors Corporation. After a few years, he was transferred to Detroit, MI where he worked in Corporate Operations Analysis. Eventually, Ed's dedication, talent, and long hours led to his promotion of Corporate Director of Data Systems Information and Activities, i.e., the head of a task force that dealt with the computer technology for GM worldwide. Ed excelled at the challenge and was most supportive and caring for those who worked for him. After Ed retired, he and Anila had the good fortune to do some traveling, as well as enjoy the accomplishments of their children and the growth of their grandchildren. Ed eventually came to illness that left him most limited for several years. He once said, "I think life is a dream, and when we die, we wake up." Well, Good Morning, Ed! You guessed right. We will miss you. The family wishes to thank the VNA Hope Healthcare team who provided Ed with such loving care during his last few months. A memorial mass will be celebrated Monday at 12 Noon at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 280 Brook St., Rocky Hill - See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/hartfordcourant/obituary.aspx?pid=103389807#sthash.0QPRnRir.dpuf |
