Burgwerben, Germany 16 August 1944 Killed when aircraft received a direct hit from flak over the target and crashed at Burgwerben, Germany. Some sources claim that he was taken POW but the official record does not support that claim.

Buried

Golden Gate National Cemetery, 1300 Sneath Lane, San Bruno, CA 94006, USA Remains recovered and buried by the Germans. Later his remains were re-interred in the Ardennes American Cemetery, W-7-167. After the war his remains were repatriated to the Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, California.
