Object Number - UPL 16622 - 2nd Lt. Earl William (Bill) Newton, jr.

Prisoner of War (POW) shot down by flak and crashed at Baltringen on 21-Jul-44 in B-24 #41-28987. Crew R129.

My father lived an extraordinary life. After serving in WWII, he married my mother and had nine children, 21 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He passed away peacefully on June 19, 2015 (on my mother and father's 67th wedding anniversary) one week shy of his 93rd birthday.

He had a quick and dry sense of humor which was keen right to the end.

A hero to his family, he was a quiet hero to his country.

He left a great legacy.
