Flew 9th to Oscherleben, Ger on 28 July. Lead Bomb. to Warnermunde 29 July. Awarded DFC. Alt Lead Regensburg Shuttle mission to N. Africa 17 Aug 43. Lead on mission from N. Africa to Bordeaux, Fr 24 Aug. Col Castle, 94th CO with SHACKEROO crew this mission. Col. LeMay, Wing CO also on Regensburg mission. Was promoted to Capt 06 Aug 43. Flew 25th mission as Lead Bomb. on 14 Jan 44-mission was rocket launching site-code name CROSSBOW. Ret to States; SQ Bomb, Childress, TX. Bomb-Nav school until discharged 09 Oct 45. Promoted to Major in Reserves 31 Jan 47. Discharged from Reserves 13 May 55.
