Shot down 18 April 1944 in B-17 42-37797 'Gin Mill Special'.



David was Waist Gunner on the William Brinkmier crew with 410BS 94th BG until being shot down on 18 April 1944. He became a POW at Stalag Luft 17B along with crewmate Jimmie Hong who reported his death after a long illness on August 1st 1944.



David searched out members' addresses for the Association before he becme ill. He was survived by his widow Marjorie.
